Theatre Director

Priscilla is a multidisciplinary director working across theatre, opera and screen. Priscilla is invested in an exquisite exchange between performers and audience through a dynamic use of space using traditional and twenty-first century technologies.

Her most recent productions include THE QUEENS NANNY written by Melanie Tait for the Ensemble Theatre and THE COST OF LIVING for Queensland Theatre and Sydney Theatre Company.

In 2022 Priscilla directed the critically acclaimed RBG: OF MANY, ONE starring Heather Mitchell at Sydney Theatre Company, which went on a national tour in 2023, 2024 and will enjoy another STC season in 2025.

In 2019, Priscilla directed the award-winning Sydney Theatre Company/National Theatre of Parramatta production of WHITE PEARL by Anchuli Felicia King, which won the Sydney Theatre Award for Best Ensemble. This production toured to Queensland Theatre in 2021 Riverside Theatre Parramatta, Canberra, Adelaide and remounted at STC in 2022.

Priscilla also wrote and directed STILL POINT TURNING: THE CATHERINE MCGREGOR STORY, (2018) and assistant directed THE FATHER by Florian Zeller (2017), and THE HANGING by Angela Betzien (2016), all for STC.

Priscilla was the associate director of Opera Australia’s critically acclaimed production of BLUEBEARD’S CASTLE which premiered at the Sydney Opera House in 2021. She assistant directed ERNANI, a co-production between La Scala (Milan) and Opera Australia (2021) and has directed several Schools Tours for Opera Australia including THE BARBER OF SEVILLE which is touring nationally in 2022, and THE MAGIC FLUTE (2018).

Priscilla has collaborated extensively with the Ensemble Theatre, including the sell-out hit comedy, THE APPLETON LADIES POTATO RACE, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ERNEST (2016), assistant directed GOOD PEOPLE and BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (2016). She was the inaugural winner of Ensemble’s Sandra Bates Directing Award (2016).

Priscilla was Resident Director of SPORT for Jove’s Winter Season (2016), co-directing THE TEMPEST and ROMEO AND JULIET, and assistant directing A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. She also directed a new Australian production, DA VINCI’S APPRENTICE for Musica Viva, composed by Sally Greenaway, which tours nationally from 2018 – 2021. She has also directed PLAY IN A DAY for Bell Shakespeare.

An advocate of new work, Priscilla conceived and directed EURYDIKE + ORPHEUS – a multidisciplinary work of scale, leading the first co-production between the National Institute of Dramatic Art and the National Institute of Circus Art (2017). In 2016 Priscilla co-conceived and directed, THE ANGELICA COMPLEX with playwright Sunny Grace for THE INVISIBLE CIRCUS at Kings Cross Theatre – a festival of new work by Australian female artists.

Priscilla’s international work includes travelling to Berlin in 2017, as recipient of the Berlin New Music Opera Award, from The Opera Foundation for Young Australians, working at the Komische Opera under Barrie Kosky. In 2014/15 Priscilla was invited to work with Complicite, in London, collaborating with their Creative Learning Team, to develop educational resources for devising and theatre-making, using traditional and contemporary technologies. Priscilla represented the Southbank Centre London at the Sydney Writers Festival in 2013, directing in the WOW FESTIVAL.
